Spiral steels are very popular in corsetry due to their combined lateral movement. This allows extensive support with rotational flexibility. In the past, this type of construction was frowned upon with zero tolerance for any movement! As comfort is now more of an issue at the construction stage, we see these spiral steels being very popular.
